Currently, I'm currently persuing a PhD in Neuroscience at CUNY Graduate Center. I graduated from Hunter College, double majoring in biochemistry and psychology with a behavioral neuroscience concentration. I worked in Dr. Peter Serrano’s cognitive neurobiology lab investigating the levels of protein kinase M zeta (PKM) and other markers of synaptic plasticity following spatial learning in weak electric fish. I also worked in collaborative projects with Dr. Peter Moller and Dr. Thomas Preuss, examining the role of PKM in different species of fish. Currently, I am in Dr. Eric Klann’s lab working with fragile X mice. The project I am involved in is testing the reversal effects of a novel drug on the molecular and behavioral basis of the disease. In the future, I hope to further explore the field of neuroscience by learning more about neurobiological disorders that come about from environmental and genetic factors. In order to study neurobiological disorders I want to acquire new techniques to be able to target the main proteins involved in regulatory pathways for such disorders.
